Fresh start

Hello again! It’s me, the random you’ve followed over a year ago, that couldn’t stick to her promises of posting regularly… After a year and a bit I’m back… Trying to give one of my biggest passions in life a second chance.

I could make many excuses about why I stopped so abruptly, but honestly all of them would fit into category “life happened”. But at the end of the day life happens daily and I tell myself I’ll be back blogging and making videos soon, "next week or next month hopefully"… but I never do. And I’m no longer sure if it’s actually “life” that’s holding me back and not just fear of failure. Fear of not keeping my promises again.

And that’s exactly why I’m back today and not tomorrow. Maybe with a bit of a boring and pointless post, but I have to start somewhere right? I won’t make any promises yet of a strict routine yet, but I’ll try my best to get into one as soon as possible.

Smashbox All For Eyes Set Review ● 12 days of #Trendmas

It's day 5 of #Trendmas!! Time is flying so fast and before I know it it'll be 2016! Today I've decided to review a set I mentioned in my mini Boots haul (here). It was around 12£ which is amazing considering that you get 3 deluxe size items. I didn't plan on buying it at first, but I ran out of my mascara and all drugstore ones were around 10£ (and I usually hate them) so I decided to buy this set instead. I needed my mascara to last until I go home in January therefore full size wasn't necessary. But enough of stories for today, let's talk about each product individually and my opinion on them.

Rose Quartz & Serenity ● Pantone Color of the Year 2016

It's that time of the year when Pantone announces their color of the year. And for the first time in their history they chose a duo of shades instead of just one, which has shocked a lot of people.

"In many parts of the world we are experiencing a gender blur as it relates to fashion, which has in turn impacted color trends throughout all other areas of design. This more unilateral approach to color is coinciding with societal movements toward gender equality and fluidity... The prevalent combination of Rose Quartz and Serenity also challenges traditional perceptions of color association." explains Pantone on their official website.

Hey Loves!

Today I'd like to share my recent skincare discoveries that literally saved my skin. Two months ago my skin started "freaking out" aka breaking out like crazy to the point I thought my serious acne came back. Some of it was hormonal but the majority of it was definitely caused by stress and bad water/polluted air. I'm really disappointed with water quality in London and I can see its' horrible effects on my skin and hair just in short 6 months that I've lived here. Back home in Lithuania, tap water quality is amazing (aka I thought buying bottled water was wasteful, stupid and unnecessary) and that might be a huge factor why my body reacted this badly to water here. Also I have to admit that at one point I got a little lazy and wasn't cleaning/scrubbing my skin properly.

Light ● Instawall

Hi!

It's Instawall time again! Although I abandoned my blog for a little while, but I kept instagramming as always. So if you want to know what I'm up to, you're always welcome to follow me @themonsterdee. For the summertime I've decided to post (mostly) lighter pictures.

1. 'My new boyfriend ♡' - it's the same picture from my previous post. Anyone who knows me irl would tell you that computer is the most important non-living thing to me. 99% of my hobbies are computer related and I spend most of my free time on it.

2. '✖️ OOTD ✖️' - while my friend (BehindTheHells) was trying on some stuff, I snapped a quick picture because I liked the floor pattern. No need to tell me that I'm weird, she reminds me everyday...

3. 'Beautiful big city ♡' - I had the opportunity to work as a dresser at the Canary Wharf's Fashion weekend. It was an amazing experience and I fell in love with the scenery there. Definitely best 4 days here so far.

4. 'XOXO' - I was in the mood to doodle.

5. 'Off to take over the world ✈️' - I love flying. It's so peaceful up there. This is 'the big day' I moved to London.

6. '-Chained sky-' - please ignore my silly captions, I just want to be cool sometimes... Day before I left, I met up with my friends for drinks. It was a pretty sad day to me and I miss them a lot. Once we ordered our drinks I noticed how awesome the ceiling were so naturally I had to instagram it haha!

7. 'Beauté' - I got these beautiful white carnations for my 20th birthday from my family. Months later I found this picture and it was too beautiful not to share it.

8. 'Hello' - first selfie in years where I'm smiling. What can I say... I guess I was feeling myself haha!

9. 'Don't forget to look up' - I was walking around Vilnius oldtown with my best friend and noticed these beautiful ceiling flowers. Sometimes we forget to look up from our phones and just look around. And we are missing out..

Life Update ● Chatter Chapter

Hey!

So it's been a while since the last time I've blogged because huge, time consuming life changes happened... I moved to London! Ahhh I know! I managed to complete one of my 2015 resolutions. On 19th of May, my overpacked suitcase and I travel 2000 kilometers across Europe. It was extremely weird to fly somewhere with one way ticket. And leaving my mom, sister and my cat behind was a lot harder emotionally than I thought, but I survived.

I would of blogged sooner, but I didn't have a computer. Now I've finally got a brand new MacBook that belongs to me and only me, and a notebook full of blog post ideas, so get ready to see me often in your feeds. See you soon!

BALMAIN x H&M ● Fashion News

Hello!

If you're a huge fashion fanatic as I am, you'll probably know this by now, but to all my fashion lovers who missed the new - BALMAIN and H&M are collaborating!!! It was announced less than 12 hours ago on instagram (and probably on hm.com and other places, but I don't browse those websites at 2 in the morning). The creative director of Balmain, Olivier Rousteing, took the red carpet at the Billboard Music Awards together with his friends Kendall Jenner and Jourdan Dunn.They were all dressed in Balmain x H&M – revealing the first pieces of the collection.

Honestly I couldn't be more excited for this collab, as Balmain has been one of my favorite fashion houses to follow these past few years. I love Olivier Rousteing and his creations and I'm pretty sure this collaboration might be the best one we've seen in a long time. Now more about the collection itself and what we can predict so far. It's inspired by past Balmain collections and I'm pretty sure it's going to be hella expensive, so I'll have to start saving now. The blazer/jacket/dress thing and thigh-high shoes that Kendall wore were beyond beautiful and definitely my favorite so far.

New Aesthetic ● InstaWall

Hey!

It's been a while since I did an InstaWall post, so here it is! This year I've decided to pretend that I'm one of the cool kids and make my instagram feed sort of coherent. I won't go to the extremes and do all pics in the same filter just because I believe that each picture requires different ones. Also I equally love warm, cold and b&w filters so it would be painful to stick to only one category..

1. 'The zone' - I threw my notebooks and electronics on the table at the library and was about to sit down to brainstorm ideas for future blog posts/videos as I saw an opportunity for a pretty picture so I took it...

2. #ThroughBackThursday picture.. I took it back in January in London. God I miss that place...

3. 'Balance' - I wanted to edit something but old pics seemed boring, so I did a little photoshoot for my plants haha!

4. 'Am I tumblr enough?' - What can I say... I was in a silly mood on Valantines day (I'm obviously single).

5. Last minutes in UK. Honestly I didn't want to leave and can't wait to go back!

6. 'Best day ever.' - My lovely bestfriend (BehindTheHeels) took me around London and it was awesome.

7. 'LONDONeye' - picture from the same touristy day.

8. 'Crumbs & Doilies' - I was dreaming about visiting this place since the day I bought my plane tickets (probably even before that). It was supercalifragilisticexpialidocious and I saw Jemma (I was too scared to ask for a picture but fangirled on the inside soooo hard)!

9. 'MCMXCV' - aka 1995 aka a tattoo I want to get(I know I know... Super creative). It takes me forever to come up with captions for selfies! I hope I'm not the only one.. Haha!

The Inspiration Board ● LFW AW15 Street Style Edition

Hi!

The day for LFW inspiration board has come and it can only be described with one word - Eclectic. It was literally "mission impossible" to create a coherent board. So many different styles, everyone wants to make a statement and be noticed. London is definitely the brightest city when it come to wearing colors. Also London is the best for outerwear inspiration as it's either rainy or cold during this time of the year so unique coat is fashionistas best friend (unless you don't mind freezing to death for fashion). But at the same time it was way harder than any other week to hunt for looks that I personally found inspiring as there were (in my opinion) way too many "try-hards". Hello again!

As I'm counting my last days being a teenager, I thought it's the best time to share what I want to do before my 20th birthday on 29th of March. So without further ado, here they are!

1. Get a part time job.

2. Hit 200 followers on Bloglovin. (difficult, I know..)

3. Drive a car alone for the first time.

4. Take my best friends for a car ride.

5. Film and upload videos again on YouTube!

6. Finish reading Harry Potter series.

7. Start my OOTD/OOTW series. (and brainstorm a name for it)

8. Have a clear plan for summer.

9. Hit 200 subscriber on Youtube. (that would be best birthday gift ever!!)

10. Start working out again.

11. Get my creativity and mood back. (during winter it magically disappeared)

12. Figure out new video editing software.

13. Lose 3 kilos.

14. Start wearing lipstick on (almost) daily basis.

15. Leave my house without winged liner on. (it's been my signature look for years now..)

16. Find new favorite scent.

17. Change up my hairstyle.

18. Dye my hair darker. (not permanently)

19. Learn how to use DSLR.

20. Try cold brew coffee.

Ugh I can't believe I have only 22 days left... Time flies guys!
